"The Bonnie" Survey
The first four questions were aimed at getting some basic demographic information about the partakers. I asked, what there gender was, age, current class ranking, and whether they lived on campus or not. The gender question assigned number, 1 for males, and 2 for females. This nominal scale allows me to identify how the different genders answered the survey. I am assuming that when it comes to game room, males go there much more than females. I asked the age question to get a ratio of the ages that go to the Bonnie. This also went along with the next two questions as well. If a student lives on campus they use the on campus facilities more since they are so close. That is why I asked whether they lived on or off campus. However, I also asked age and class ranking to see older students who still live on campus use the student center as much as the younger ones on campus students. Since most freshmen do not have cars here, entertainment and food options are somewhat limited, so I feel that they would be more likely to use the student center. The student center might find that they may not be advertising to a large branch of the student population. The next set of questions dealt with how they gained knowledge of the Bonnie and how often they go there.
The fifth question I asked was how the students heard about the Bonnie. Since it is new, some students may not know all the features the Bonnie has to offer. Also this is good way to see how affective the advertising for the Bonnie has been. Next, I wanted to get a ratio of how many times a week the average student goes to the Bonnie. After that I used an ordinal question to get a ranking of the reasons that students go to the Bonnie. This will show why students go to the center and get an idea of what areas the Bonnie needs to try and bring in more students. I had the students pick what games they play when in the game room. This is way to tell them is all those new pools tables where worth the investment. Next I asked what restaurant they mainly went to when going to the Bonnie for a meal to get a general idea of the most popular restaurants in the Bonnie.
The next set of questions is about the money the students are spending at the Bonnie. I asked the average amount for each trip. I then broke it down into two more questions to get a better idea of how much they are spending on food at the Bonnie, versus how much they are spending in entertainment. An average meal at Chick-Fil-A is about $5, but pool is only $1.50 for a half hour. So this will give a better representation of how much money they are spending at the Bonnie and also on what.
